Dean's Office units that provide services to SOM departments, other campus units, and/or sometimes external customers, pass their operating costs to those receiving the services through an official recharge process. The recharge process includes the development of a recharge proposal that defines the recharge operation and develops committee-approved user rates.
Recharge Proposals
Recharge proposals are reviewed and renewed every year or every two years, depending on their tier level, and are generally due in February to Budget & Resource Management (BRM). Proposals need to be developed in accordance with campus policies and guidelines:
- Policy: UCSF Policy/300-48
- Guidance: BRM Recharge Guidance and Procedure
- Allowable/Unallowable Costs: Allowable and Unallowable Recharge Costs
SOM DO approved unit recharge operations include:
- SOM P&I
- Simulated Learning Center (SLC): Kanbar & Anatomy Lab Center (ALC)
