UCSF has established the Chancellor's Mid-Career Faculty Recruitment Fund to recruit strong mid-career faculty. The support is provided with the expectation that the indirect cost recovery brought to UCSF by the faculty recruit will repay the loan amount within three years.
The process is outlined in the link provided above, including a letter of nomination from the Dean. To request a nomination letter from the Dean, submit the following to Vice Dean for Administration & Finance Maye Chrisman who will submit the request to the Dean upon her review:
- Nomination letter, signed by the department chair or unit director. [Template]
- Confirmation of financial responsibility, signed by the department chair or unit director [Template]
- Excel worksheet with direct and indirect cost details to support the indirect cost recovery projection [Template]
- Faculty candidate CV
- Any letters of support for the faculty candidate
Upon review and approval by the Dean, Vice Dean Chrisman will forward the request to the EVCP for consideration by the review committee.
