Introducing UCSF Med In Focus

Dear School of Medicine Community,

Every day, our faculty, staff, and learners advance discovery, education, and patient care in ways that deserve to be shared. With this inaugural issue, we introduce UCSF Med In Focus, a refreshed version of our community newsletter that highlights these stories and the important people behind them.

Each issue will offer a shorter, more focused look at our community’s work, School priorities, and colleagues across our missions, along with a note from me here at the Dean’s Desk. Please share any story ideas you may have to help us reflect the breadth of our School’s activities.

At the end of this month, we will introduce two companion resources that we have heard from our community would be useful:

• School of Medicine Opportunities & Reminders Bulletin: A separate monthly email with upcoming deadlines, operational reminders, along with funding and faculty development opportunities.
• Honors & Awards Online: A dedicated resource on the School’s website, updated monthly and available year-round, replacing the newsletter’s honors and awards section. Please continue to submit your honors and awards so your colleagues can see your best work!

Together, these changes will give our stories more room, make timely information easier to find, and create a lasting record of our community’s accomplishments.

As always, these changes are a “work in progress”, and if you have suggestions as to how we can improve them further, please let us know!
