Kelley Meade, MD, Appointed Interim Associate Dean of Clinical and Academic Affairs at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland

Kelley Meade, MDSchool of Medicine Dean Talmadge E. King, Jr., MD, announced the appointment of Kelley Meade, MD, as the new Interim Associate Dean of Clinical and Academic Affairs at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland, effective August 1, 2018. In this newly created position, Dr. Meade will represent the School of Medicine at Benioff Children's Oakland to develop a closer and more collaborative relationship between the faculty on both sides of the Bay.

Dr. Meade was most recently the Medical Director of the Federally Qualified Health Center and Associate Director of Primary Care at Benioff Children's Oakland, where she championed a team-based care approach to the delivery of care. Her current professional interests include asthma, family navigation, primary care transformation and physician wellness.

Dr. Meade is well versed in all aspects of the Benioff Children's Hospitals organization, having been elected officer of the Benioff Children's Oakland medical staff, served as an ex-officio member of the Benioff Children's Hospitals Board of Directors, participated in the Clinical Affairs Committee of the Academic Senate, and co-chaired the Clinical Integration Committee and the Benioff Children's Hospitals 2020 Physician Advisory Committee.

Dr. Meade earned her MD from the Chicago Medical School. She completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at Boston City Hospital. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics.

Dr. Meade will partner closely with Dean King, the Vice Deans and the Department Chairs to build the new Associate Dean's Office. She will be a resource for School of Medicine faculty in Oakland and provide counsel on how best to preserve the special culture in Oakland, as we work to serve the children and families of the East Bay.
