Nominations Open for 2013 Chancellor Awards
It is awards season at UCSF and time to celebrate our colleagues who have gone above and beyond in their service to the University, staff, and community. Please nominate deserving colleagues to recognize extraordinary service and leadership efforts which help make UCSF not only an exemplary institution but also a success in our mission to advance health worldwide. Submit nominations to Committees Coordinator [email protected] or the Office of the Chancellor, S-24, Box 0402 by 5 PM on Thursday, Feb. 14 for the following three annual Chancellor awards:
Chancellor Award for Exceptional University Service
This award recognizes and rewards outstanding University service by non-academic, non-supervisory staff. The eligibility requirements, award criteria, nomination form, and a list of prior recipients are available at http://www.ucsf.edu/chancellor/award-exceptional-university-service
Chancellor Award for Exceptional University Management
This award recognizes and rewards outstanding University management by non-academic, supervisory staff who have the responsibility to supervise, guide, and lead others. Chancellor Award for Public Service
This award recognizes individuals at UCSF who have demonstrated outstanding public service beyond the scope of their job, area of research, or training. UCSF was selected to be one of 12 NIH Centers of Excellence in Pain Education.
The next Wings Program Application Deadline is February 1, 2013.

February 26: Course and Clinical Educator Skills Development Day – A Day of Faculty Development
Ann Capela Zovain, MD; Tippi MacKenzie, MD; Jason Pomerantz, MD and Ophir Klein, MD, PhD, were recipients of California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) grants totaling $12 million.
Scott Oakes, MD, was selected to receive a Harrington Scholar-Innovator two-year grant.
Mack Roach, MD was appointed by President Obama to the National Cancer Advisory Board.
Dave Robb is featured in the current Faculty-Staff Spotlight.
Keith Yamamoto, PhD was elected to the Institute of Medicine (IOM) governing council.
Robert A Fishman, MD, former chair of the department of Neurology, died from complications of Alzheimer’s disease on December 4.
