Goal: This exercise will give us an opportunity to think about how we might reimagine the culture at UCSF so that it works for everyone.

Timeline and Assignment: Each table has an assigned facilitator and a Wisdom Consolidator.  Facilitators will lead the discussion; Wisdom Consolidators will input themes and salient facts into this Qualtrics survey. (40 minutes)

WHAT?

(1 min) Individuals work quietly alone on:

  • What did you notice? What facts or observations stood out?
  • What are key elements that lead to a successful culture?
  • Is there a problem or issue with our culture?
  • What groups of people are we leaving behind?
  • Are there programs/initiatives/examples that represent a successful culture at UCSF?


(10 min) Discussion and Wisdom Consolidators collect salient facts.

SO WHAT?

(1 min) Individuals work quietly alone on:

  • Why is this important? 
  • How does this affect us? 
  • How does it affect our future?
  • What patterns or conclusions are emerging?  What hypotheses can we make?
  • What critical questions does this cause us to ask?


(10 min) Discussion and Wisdom Consolidators collect salient patterns, hypotheses and conclusions.

NOW WHAT?

(1 min) Individuals work quietly alone on:

  • Now what? 
  • What actions make sense?
  • How might we create a culture where all may thrive?


(10 min) Actions are shared with the group, discussed and collected.
