In February, School of Medicine and campus leadership will come together at the annual School of Medicine Leadership Retreat to discuss Artificial Intelligence and how we can harness the power of AI to advance our mission areas.

We are seeking posters that showcase work in AI by our talented faculty, staff and learners. This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the broader discourse on the intersection of AI and our work, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and advancements in the field.  It also provides an opportunity to share your innovative work with leaders from across the institution.

The poster symposium will be held on Thursday, February 1, 5:45-7:30pm, at Mission Bay. Posters are due on Friday, January 12. More information is below.

Please contact [email protected] with any questions.

Why are we hosting a poster session at the SOM Leadership Retreat?

Artificial Intelligence is revolutionizing the way we approach research, education, and clinical care, and we want to learn from those of you who are already working in this area.  We see this poster session as an opportunity to:

  • Facilitate the exchange of ideas and knowledge related to AI applications in education, research and clinical care
  • Provide an educational forum for attendees to learn about the practical applications of AI at UCSF
  • Enhance the understanding of AI concepts and methodologies
  • Provide a platform for researchers to showcase their work, gaining recognition within our community
  • Encourage collaboration between our AI experts and leaders to address complex healthcare challenges
  • Inspire attendees to explore new research directions and projects related to AI
What types of work in AI should be submitted?

We welcome all AI research and work that aligns with our mission areas:

  • Clinical Care
  • Discovery
  • Education
  • Health Equity
  • Administration
Who is invited to submit projects?

Any UCSF faculty, staff, or trainee (e.g., students, residents, fellows, postdocs) who works on a project within a UCSF setting is encouraged to submit a poster. Projects that have already been presented at other conferences are welcome. This event is an inclusive opportunity to celebrate teams and their work within our community.

How do we submit our team’s project for the symposium?

All submissions are required to use this poster template. Please ensure you are able to complete all components of this template. This format is in a size and format that is most cost- and space-efficient for printing. Requiring this poster template is the best way to assure we can accommodate all poster submissions in our event space.

Once your poster is complete, please upload your submission here.

What is the deadline for submission?

The deadline is Friday, January 12th. Use this link to electronically submit your team information and poster. The Dean’s Office will print posters, and we will provide additional logistical information following submission(s).
