Faculty:

Moving from theory to practice while creating curriculum for an online environment involves a systematic process of design and development. Instructional design is a practice that borrows from classroom teaching, publishing, and film to create a system to engage the learner as deeply as possible. This workshop starts with the premise that the learner is the center of all learning, which is especially true when using an online environment where the learner has control in how to interact with the curriculum. We'll explore why storyboarding is used to develop ideas and how to create curriculum and then apply this to your current projects in hands-on practice during this session.

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the instructional design and creative development process
  • Understand how to use storyboarding to design learner-centered curriculum
  • Apply instructional development methods to real world challenges.
  •
