Kevin Souza, MS

This session will introduce participants to two ways to get started in educational scholarship. We will set the stage with an overview of what constitutes educational scholarship. Half of the session will be devoted to the submission of educational products to peer review sites, primarily MedEdPortal. The other half of the session will be spent developing an abstract for submission to Medical Education's Really Good Stuff section.

At the end of the workshop the participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the primary repositories and journals for medical education scholarship.
  • Identify products and/or projects they are doing suitable for submission for peer review.
  • Apply review criteria to sample products.
  • Develop an abstract for submission.
