Preparing and Conducting Site Visits

Principal Faculty:

Bobby Baron, MD
Associate Dean of Graduate and Continuing Medical Education
UCSF School of Medicine

Maintaining accreditation is an essential responsibility of educational leadership. The self-study and the site visit are the key processes that influence the renewal of accreditation. Conducting the self-study and preparing for the site visit require long-term collaboration, organization and contributions from the faculty. In this workshop, participants will:

      • Hear about the criteria used by LCME and AGCME self-studies and site visits.
      • Learn how to prepare and motivate faculty for participation in the process.
      • Discuss methods for organizing the required information.
      • Identify details to consider for organizing the site visit day.
      • Learn about important pitfalls to avoid
