Educational Scholarship: Reading and Writing in Medical Education

Educational scholarship includes not only teaching and using best practices in teaching, but also developing resources and conducting educational research. In this workshop that focuses on dissemination and publication of educational scholarship, participants will learn where to publish their manuscripts and present their research, as well as how to critically examine educational research articles. In this workshop participants will:

      • Become familiar with the key journals in medical education
      • Set up automatic table of contents notifications and literature searches from these journals
      • Use review criteria to examine an educational scholarship article
      • Examine calls for educational abstracts and actually write one
      • Identify conferences, journals and sites for disseminating educational scholarship
