Teaching Scholars Program
is a faculty
member in the Department of Pediatrics, based at San Francisco General
Hospital where she works with housestaff and medical students in both
the outpatient clinic and inpatient ward. A native East Coaster, she
came to UCSF and the Bay Area as a medical student and stayed on at
UCSF to complete her pediatric residency and a chief resident year.
In 2003 she piloted an observation and feedback tool for medical students
rotating in pediatrics at SFGH. She is director of a new primary care
pediatrics residency program that co-exists with the general pediatric
program, called Pediatric Leadership for the Underserved (PLUS). Her
project for the Teaching Scholars Program will be to create the PLUS
curriculum and develop appropriate evaluation tools to determine its
effectiveness.
