Teaching Scholars Program
is Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine and Program Director of
the UCSF Geriatric Fellowship. She received her BA from UC Santa Cruz,
her MPH from UC Berkeley, and her MD from UCSF. She completed residency
training in Primary Care Internal Medicine at UC Davis and a Geriatric
Fellowship at Stanford. Dr. Johnston is the Chair of the Society of
General Internal Medicine's Geriatrics Interest Group, and her scholarly
work focuses on integrating geriatric content into all levels of medical
education. She is also active in increasing health insurance coverage
to the uninsured through working with the California Physician's Alliance
and Physicians for a National Health Program.
