Teaching Scholars Program

Sharad Jain, MD (TSP 2001-2002) is Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine, based at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Stanford University and a medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, where he also completed his residency in internal medicine. Dr. Jain has been on the UCSF faculty for the past six years, and currently serves as Site Director for the Categorical Medicine Residency and as Assistant Chief for the VA Medical Service. He also serves as the co-director for the Area of Concentration in Community Health and Social Advocacy. Dr. Jain is extremely interested in providing medical care to the underserved; he is a regular volunteer preceptor at the UCSF Student Homeless Clinic and teaches an elective for fourth-year medical students titled "Introduction to Poverty Medicine."
