Teaching Scholars Program David Irby, PhD is Vice Dean for Education and Professor of Medicine, and directs undergraduate, graduate and continuing medical education programs of the School of Medicine and the Office of Medical Education. He is also a Senior Scholar at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching where he co-directs the Foundations three-year national study of medical education - the second Flexner Report. His research has focused on clinical teaching in medicine and faculty development. He earned a doctorate in education from the University of Washington, a Masters of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in academic administration at Harvard. |
