Teaching Scholars Program

Cindy Fenton, MD (TSP 1998-1999) is a general internist who completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Residency at UCSF. Since her chief residency year in 1992-93, she has been involved in various educational activities in the Department of Medicine, including curriculum design and implementation of a psychosocial medicine program for primary care residents. After having twin boys in May 1997, Dr. Fenton returned to work part time. From 1997-2000 she held a 50% position, serving as the first Associate Chair for Education in the Department of Medicine, overseeing the educational programs in the Medicine Department including student programs, residency programs, fellowship programs and CME. She currently holds a 20% appointment in the School of Medicine Education Office to develop and direct the Intersession course, a new multidisciplinary required course for third year medical students. In addition she works one Sunday per month in the emergency room at the SFVA.
