Adam Collins, MD (TSP 2004-2005) is Assistant Clinical Professor in the UCSF Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care. He completed his anesthesia training in 2000 and has been a clinical anesthesiologist at San Francisco General Hospital, where he supervises anesthesia residents and medical students. His main areas of interest have been procedure and crisis simulation, regional anesthesia, and multimedia education. Consequently he has become the associate director of the UCSF Center for Health Care Simulation, the associate director of the regional anesthesia rotation for anesthesia residents, and the Anesthesia 110 site director and skills session director at SFGH. Using a UCSF library instructional grant, he has been creating a set of professional-quality digital instructional videos for regional anesthesia, focusing on emerging ultrasound-guided techniques. In the upcoming academic year Dr. Collins will be applying video-based instruction to basic procedure training at the medical student level.
