Scholars Program
is a clinical fellow in infectious diseases. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Literary Studies from Williams College. After teaching high school for 2 years, she attended medical school at University of Washington and then completed a primary care internal medicine residency at UCSF. During her residency she co-founded the international clinical elective for residents. She subsequently served as chief resident at San Francisco General Hospital. From 2003-2005, she participated in the Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, focusing on domestic foodborne outbreak investigations and safe water projects in developing countries. Currently she is working with the AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC) to develop teaching curriculum in HIV care for primary care providers as well as continuing her involvement with the global health scholars program for residents.
