Patricia A. Areán, PhD (TSP 2007-2008) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and is currently the director of the NIH funded Community Academic Research Training Alliance Fellowship Program and the Chair of the UCSF Psychiatry Diversity Committee. She is a first generation Cuban-American and licensed clinical psychologist. Her research focuses on treatment of mental disorders in older adults and minority populations and has been funded by SAMHSA, NIMH, NIA, and the Hartford Foundation.
