Scholars Program
Leila Alpers, MD, MS (TSP 2006-2007) is Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine based at San Francisco General Hospital. She completed her undergraduate degree at UC Santa Cruz and went on to receive her Masters degree in science from UC Berkeley and her MD from UCSF in the Joint Medical Program. She completed her residency in the UCSF Primary Care Internal Medicine Program and served as Chief Resident at San Francisco General Hospital. Currently she is the SFGH Site Director for the Categorical Medicine Residency and participates in resident and student teaching as a hospitalist on the inpatient wards as well as in continuity clinic. Her interests are in resident and medical student education, and she recently helped implement a pilot to improve medical students’ transition from the preclinical years to clinical rotations.
