XDx Fellowship in Molecular Diagnostics About XDx: XDx is a biotechnology company located in South San Francisco that focuses on the development of molecular diagnostic strategies in the clinical arena of solid organ transplantation. By employing transcriptional analysis of circulating immune cells, XDx strives to define unique changes in gene expression which are induced as part of immunological responses to allogeneic transplantation. Research collaborations with investigators at leading university medical centers have enabled XDx to create novel approaches to the diagnosis of organ rejection and the enhancement of patient care. AlloMapTM molecular expression testing is the initial offering by XDx, which targets the clinical management of heart transplant patients. Responsibilities: The Fellowship consists of a year-long supervised program in the Clinical Development group at XDx with the objective of developing strong research skills in the area of molecular diagnostics. An exceptional background in clinical medicine and molecular biology will be essential for the Fellow to integrate research exposures to patient-based investigations and gene expression profiling. As part of the Clinical Development team, the individual will participate in collaborative academic research networks, which will require interactions with university investigators, supervision of clinical specimen collection, and patient data acquisition. The Fellow will also work closely with basic scientists and bioinformatics experts at XDx to assist in the design and analysis of transcriptional profiling experiments. Opportunities:
Qualifications:
Stipend: XDx will provide a one-year $25,000 research fellowship including health care benefits. One fellowship will be available beginning January 1, 2006. Email, fax or mail resume to: XDx, Inc.
