We are seeking a medical student as a research assistant to help with
a project investigating how maternal nutritional knowledge influences
maternal feeding practices in the first year of a child’s life.
The Job: Conduct interviews in the maternity wards of Moffitt-Long
Hospital and the SFGH, collect infant anthropometric data from medical
records in the well baby nurseries, enter the data into a Microsoft Access
database, help with data analysis, and help write it up!
The Rewards: Authorship of any publications, experience
with medical writing, systematic literature searching, Microsoft Access
and basic statistics.
The Collaborators: Melvin B. Heyman, MD MPH, Janet M.
Wojcicki, PhD MPH, UCSF Pediatric (GI/Nutrition), and Cam Tu-Tran, MD
SFGH Pediatrics.
This is an excellent opportunity for an interested medical
student to join a project that will be submitted for publication in the
fall of 2004.
No experience is necessary.
