We are studying predictors of mortality in patients who have received automatic internal cardioverter defibrillators (AICDs). Because of recent clinical trials, a large number of people meet criteria for AICD implantation to prevent sudden cardiac death.
The cost of this intervention is very high, thus it is necessary to determine those who would benefit most.

The Job: assist in review of computerized and paper charts, assist with data analysis and write-up.

The Rewards: Authorship in any publications, experience with basic statistics & data analysis, and exposure to faculty in the Department of Cardiology.

The Collaborators: Keane Lee, MD (Medicine resident), Paul Varosy, MD (Cardiac Electrophysiology), and Jeff Olgin (Cardiac Electrophysiology)

This project starts in 11/04 and will extend over the next year. It is flexible work that can be done from home during spare time.
