Radiology
140.19: CLINICAL RADIOLOGY
Tier 2.
This elective is in a specific section (abdominal, chest, bone, interventional, neuro, pediatrics, etc.) in radiology under the supervision of faculty of that section along with fellows and residents. These electives involve the student in daily clinical activities of radiology with an emphasis on image interpretation, observing procedures, attending clinical conferences and viewing teaching files.
Course Objectives:
Experience a concentrated example of the practice of a particular area of radiology from film interpretation to applications to clinical medicine by daily interaction with practicing radiology faculty.

Dependent on area selected for study.

As per radiology faculty. Includes Radiology 100 online syllabus and appropriate online teaching cases

Prerequisites:

If you are accepted for a 140.19 elective, you will be instructed to complete the application form, health form, etc. A processing fee of $150 will be included and everything mailed to the learning center; Attn: Randy Ortega.
When the elective is finished, copies of your school evaluation form signed by the section chief on your completed work, will be on file at the learning center.

"By Arrangement Clerkships"
Students must pick up a "By Arrangement Elective" form from the Radiology Learning Center.
Decide which calendar block works for the section of radiology that you are contacting (Section I) and get an agreement and sign off (Section II) with the radiology section.
The scheduling and tracking of student progress during the 140.19 elective is the responsibility of the individual radiology section.
