FCM Faculty Development Fellowship
The Northern California Faculty Development Fellowship is a one-year professional development program sponsored by the UCSF and UC Davis Departments of Family and Community Medicine. Family medicine faculty from UCSF and UCD residency programs participate in a multi-component curriculum that includes a faculty development course, a practicum based at the fellow's residency, and a scholarly project in the fellow's chosen area of expertise. Fellows develop skills in one-to-one and small-group teaching, curriculum design and evaluation, organizational systems mapping, and career planning.
FCM Research Fellowship
The UCSF Department of Family and Community Medicine offers two- and three-year fellowships for individuals wishing to prepare for careers that will include research in the field of Family Medicine. A wide variety of formal academic training opportunities are available, and fellows have the option of completing an MPH degree at the nearby University of California at Berkeley School of Public Health or a Masters of Science in Clinical Research degree at UCSF. A number of primary care-oriented research centers and interest groups are available at UCSF and surrounding institutions that welcome fellows' participation.
