
The Office of Educational Technology develops and supports Learning Technologies,
Evaluations and Assessment and Educational Data Systems for the School
of Medicine's educational mission.
Learning technologies supports the online curriculum, known as iROCKET.
In addition, we provide technical and instructional design support to
students, staff and faculty interested in developing multimedia learning
materials, online courses and instructional modules. We also provide ongoing
support and development of the School of Medicine's curriculum management
tool, Ilios, the medical
student web portal, medstudents.ucsf.edu,
and the School of Medicine's digital curriculum, iROCKET.
We also provide consulting services learning technologies sections of
education grants.
Educational Evaluations
Educational Evaluations oversees evaluation design, implementation and reporting to inform curricular decision making for the core UCSF School of Medicine curriculum, instructors and medical students. As required by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation body, we guide program improvement through evaluating the effectiveness of the educational program in an ongoing manner using students evaluations of their courses and faculty, and documenting the extent to which our curriculum objectives have been met (LCME Standards ED-46, ED-47: For more information on LCME education standards visit http://www.lcme.org/standard.htm )
Educational Evaluations also provides expertise in designing program and curricular evaluation, designing evaluation and assessment instruments and implementing online and paper evaluations. In addition we provide consultation services for the evaluative sections of education grants. Work is prioritized for the core School of Medicine undergraduate medical education curriculum.
Educational Data services provide consulting on data gathering for educational
research projects and reporting on educational programs. Requests for
reports must be made seven days in advance.
