Innovation Lab Call for Facilitator Applications

We are seeking faculty and staff who want to be trained in IDEO’s design methodology. IDEO utilizes a “design thinking” approach to capture inspirational ideas and to translate those ideas into concepts and tangible prototypes. Prototypes can then be collated and distilled to map a strategic approach for solving seemingly intractable problems.

As a facilitator in the Innovation Lab project, you will help lead design challenge teams through brainstorming sessions, prototype exercises, and mapping strategies. Training and assistance will be provided from IDEO staff. These skills will be useful for the Innovation Lab, but we expect you’ll find the approach relevant and useful in other team settings such as your department, lab, etc.

As a facilitator, we ask that you complete a 3-hour training session with IDEO staff and that you make a commitment to work with two of the awarded challenge teams over the next 18 months. Challenge teams will each have three formal half-day meetings.

To apply, please complete the Innovation Lab Facilitator Application and include a letter of support from your supervisor. Email complete applications to Stephanie Belger

If you have questions about the the training and/or application process, please contact Stephanie Belger.

The deadline for applications is October 25, 2013.
