Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science Introduces New Fitness Programs At Open House

The Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science is holding an open house at their state-of-the-science facility at the new Mission Bay campus to introduce UCSF PhysFit.

UCSF PhysFit offers specialized programs targeting the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis, arthritis, neurological degeneration and other age-related concerns. A wide range of injury-specific, musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiopulmonary physical therapy programs and rehabilitation services are available. Programs and classes have been designed by physical therapists to promote weight maintenance, stress management, good posture, mental acuity, cardiopulmonary fitness, endurance, balance, flexibility and strength.

New programs include:

  • BrainFit – healthy aging, mental acuity
  • CardioFit – monitored cardiovascular rehab
  • NeuroFit – rehab for stroke, Parkinson’s disease, ALS, MS, vertigo
  • TeenFit – weight maintenance, fun!
  • WaterFit – unweighted workout
  • Pelvic Power – stress/urge control, spine stability
  • Primary Prevention – endurance training for chronic conditions
  • Stand Tall – flexibility, posture, bone health
  • Stress Less with Cancer – live your life!
