A History of Care and Service to the Community

Mount Zion Hospital was established in 1887 as a voluntary, non-profit hospital to render "medical and surgical aid and service to the needy and distressed sick of the community ... without regard to race or creed."

Today, the UCSF Medical Center at Mount Zion is a vital part of the clinical enterprise and a major teaching facility for the UCSF School of Medicine.
