Medical student Jill Hagey was one of the recipients of the Benjamin H. Kean Travel Fellowship in Tropical Medicine from the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
Katie Kelley, MD, a gastrointestinal oncologist, has received the 2014 Cancer Clinical Investigator Team Leadership Award from the National Cancer Institute.
Brian E. Smith, MBA, JD, has joined UCSF as Associate Vice Chancellor – Research Infrastructure and Operations.
Medical student Stephen Villa was one of 21 recipients of a Physicians of Tomorrow Award from the AMA Foundation.
Peter Walter, PhD, professor of biochemistry and biophysics, has received the 2014 Lasker Basic Medical Research Award, popularly known as an “American Nobel,” for a career of “challenging the unknown.”
