HONORS
Samuel Barondes, MD and Sally Mead are this year’s recipients of the Holly Smith Award for Exceptional Service to the School of Medicine.

Arturo Alvarez-Buylla, PhD; Donna Ferriero, MD, MSc and Regis Kelly, PhD were selected to be members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

J. Michael Bishop, MD; Elizabeth Blackburn, PhD; Yuet Wai Kan, MD; Frank McCormick, PhD and Shiny Yamanaka, MD, PhD, were among a prestigious group of scientists inducted into the inaugural class of fellows of the American Association for Cancer Research Academy.

Molly Cooke, MD, FACP, was named President of the American College of Physicians (ACP).

Adams Dudley, MD, MBA, received the Academic Senate Distinction in Mentoring Award.

Stephen Hauser, MD, was named recipient of the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation’s 2013 Charcot award.

Sharad Jain, MD and Thuan Le, DDS, PhD, were announced as the winners of this year’s Academic Senate Distinction in Teaching Awards.

Michael Matthay, MD, was selected as the recipient of the Chancellor’s Council on Faculty Life, Faculty Mentoring Program 2013 Lifetime Achievement in Mentoring Award.
