Kanbar Simulation Center
Vision for the Future 2010
The new Kanbar Center for Simulation and Clinical Skills Education is slated to open in 2010. The 6100 square foot facility will serve future generations of UCSF medical students, residents and fellows, acting as the center of UCSF's clinical training programs, and an important new link between the schools, campus and community. The center will allow us to strengthen our educational mission by keeping UCSF on the cutting edge of health professions education. The technologically advanced broadcast studio offered by the center will allow for multiple configurations of heath care environments, setting the stage for immersive simulation scenarios, which will include virtual reality, mannequin simulation, clinical skills, and telemedicine training. These will allow us to better prepare students for a lifetime of serving our communities.

The Kanbar Center will be adjacent to much-needed new flexible classroom space; UCSF's state-of-the-art health science library; a new technology commons for computer classroom and informal computing needs; and spaces for students to study and meet.
