UCSF Global Health Sciences

Overview

In 2003, a new program in Global Health Sciences integrated UCSF’s expertise in international health, and the social and biological sciences. The organization needed a website to reflect its broad mission and diverse activities, but wanted flexibility to grow and the ability to easily maintain the site without a full-time staff.

The Solution

To keep costs down, ISU modified existing templates and incorporated the Global Health Sciences logo and identity system to brand a site that both provided information about the initiative and invited participation. The site included a password-protected area to exchange documents and foster collaboration, as well as an online membership form that collected key information from Global Health Science collaborators throughout the world.

Results

• Database of nearly 200 Global Health Science collaborators
• Website that is easy to maintain and was inexpensive to build
• Password-protected extranet for the sharing of documents and other material
