roles physicians play

“Medical education at UCSF is educating learners who will improve the health of our communities and alleviate suffering due to illness and disease in our patients,” said Catherine R. Lucey, MD, UCSF’s Vice Dean & Executive Vice Dean for the School of Medicine, Professor of Medicine, The Faustino and Martha Molina Bernadett Presidential Chair in Medical Education. “You will recognize School of Medicine graduates by the way they tackle problems and champion inquiry, work in teams, and continually improve the healthcare systems in which they work.”

Dr. Lucey presented the education mission of UCSF’s School of Medicine at the Dean’s Forum, on November 16 at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFGH).

Fifth in a series of Dean’s Forums (link is external), the event gave attendees an overview of medical education at UCSF: who the School trains and how the innovative Bridges Curriculum is shaping the future of academic medicine.
