Curriculum Oversight and Development

Essential Core

The Essential Core Steering Committee (ECSC) oversees the planning and implementation process for the new curriculum for the first and second years of medical school. It reviews plans submitted by committees responsible for designing individual block courses and considers issues of policy and overall integration. The Steering Committee reports to Committee on Curriculum and Educational Policy (CCEP).

The Essential Core Course Committee (ECCC) reviews the teaching, content, structure, and format of the block courses, issuing guidelines regarding their operation.

Both of these committees report to the Committee on Curriculum and Educational Policy (CCEP).

  • For more information on either ECSC or ECCC, please contact David Rachleff
