Seasonal Meetings, 2009-2010

The Academy hosts seasonal meetings to promote the concept of the "educational commons" and the scholarship of teaching and learning. Many feature visiting scholars who are national leaders in the field of medical education. Themes range from effective teaching methods and curricular innovation, to the impact of health policy on education. These gatherings provide a forum to discuss our work as teachers and educators, learn from each other, and promote collaborations across departments, sites and institutions.

All School of Medicine faculty are invited and welcome to attend.

Monday, November 16, 2009: Fall Meeting, "Tips of the Trade: Time-Efficient Teaching and Educational Resources". 2-4 pm, Faculty-Alumni House. Our fall meeting will provide an opportunity to share and learn about professional strategies for achieving efficiencies in clinical or classroom teaching, course management, feedback and evaluation. After an introductory overview, we will break into small groups by type of teaching to brainstorm about available resources and novel approaches to making the most effective use of your time as an educator.
