Membership Application Process 2008 Call for Applications: 3/3/08: Call for applications Application packets consist of:
1. Applicant's personal statement and Educator's
Portfolio (EP IS NOT TO EXCEED 10 PAGES COMBINED and may be shorter):
2. Substantive letter of support from the applicant's department chair
or division chief/director. Please do not include additional letters of

Important things to remember about your application The UCSF Educator's Portfolio (see below) is the format that candidates for Academy membership should use to document their work and accomplishments as teachers and educators. Academy members are selected through a rigorous process that includes review by members of the Academy's Membership Working Group and national experts in medical education and faculty development. Faculty may apply or be nominated by colleagues. All Academy members must be outstanding teachers of medical students or have significant impact on medical student education through their educational activity with residents or fellows. Only educational activity since 2003 will be considered. We encourage all applicants to discuss their applications with an Academy member. UCSF Educator's
Portfolio While an Educator's Portfolio is a showcase of your best work, all applicants
must include DIRECT TEACHING; all applicants with a major medical education
responsibility (i.e. course director, clerkship director, residency director,
etc.) must include EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION AND LEADERSHIP. Application packets should be submitted electronically to Christine Khuu
at khuuc@medsch.ucsf.edu. Applications
to be pre-screened must be sent no later than April 23. Due
date for all submissions is May 12, 2008. Inquiries may be directed
to Christine Khuu 514-2282. |
