In some instances an abbreviated packet for a temporary appointment can be submitted and approved by the Vice Dean, while a proposed appointment requiring a relatively lengthy review is being processed. Temporary appointments for one year or less in title series and certain steps for which the Dean's Office has been delegated approval authority (e.g. Assistant Clinical and Adjunct at steps I or II) can be approved relatively quickly.
The Dean's Office will accept an abbreviated packet, rather than a full appointment packet, for a temporary appointment only when a search process report naming the proposed faculty member as the candidate of choice for the search is on file in the Dean's Office.
